I am making a video for a quilting company and trying to get something creative for the closing…I was thinking of trying to get their name so it looks stitched or that it is stitching, but have no idea where/how to even approach it.

Any ideas at all? I just need a jump start to get my creative juices flowing

I havent seen an effect like that in any program. You could have a camera and the cloth you want to stitch mounted so they dont move and take a picture every stitch or two as you do the real stitching and add them with a duration that will give you the look as if it’s being stitched. the length of a pic added to the timeline by default is 5 seconds I think but you can change that. One possibility is to get the image of a few stitches on a transparent background. Then using a program like After Effects or Boris FX/Boris RED, animate the stitches to populate along a spline that traces the words you want to make. This might look like the words are being sewn.

You might have a look at the stuff the guys over at https://www.outerspace-software.com have. I came across their tools recently and am starting to use blufftitler and bixelangelo to animate text and writing, and it seems to be able to do some prtty cool stuff with textures – maybe you could animate your text with a sewing texture in bixelangelo and then import it into Vegas?

This is what I have started.. I used the — dash line to make it work and then used track motion.
It’s getting there, but the “threads” look like they are getting bigger as opposed to it looking like it’s moving.

    Any ideas would be appreciated!
Sorry I posted this twice, but I can figure out how to delete a post.
