    Hello,

I am working on a project that will be a web only movie.

The project starts with an 8 second Motion file, which I have imported into Final Cut, then goes into a several minute mpg movie.

I am trying to get the sharpest results for a web movie. Here are the settings I have for my Motion file:

Here are the setting I have for my Final Cut Sequence:

What would be the best settings to start with in Motion and what would be the best setting to start with in Final Cut?

The 8 second Motion file looks wonderful when I am working in Motion, but gets somewhat soft and blurry when I bring it into Final Cut and also looks soft and blurry when I export it.

I know I need to compress it for the web and will loose some clarity. I would like it to look better in FC before I even take it to compressor.

Is there a way to not have it be interlaced at all? I figure some of the softness is happening because of the interlacing, but I am not sure.

    Any advice is welcomed.

    Thanks,

    Kim

[Kim stuckmeyer] “The project starts with an 8 second Motion file”

Are you exporting the Motion project as a quicktime movie or are you importing the Motion file into your FCP project?

You have a filter in FCP to deinterlace. You can also deinterlace the final sequence on export if you use QuickTime conversion.
