Settings to create Blu Ray & DVD from 1080/60p footage?
I shot stage production using Panasonic TM700K set at 1080/60p. I imported into Sony Vegas Pro 10 and added a simple rolling credit. It looks very good in Vegas but I’ve tried for days getting a decent looking DVD & Blu Ray burn. No matter what settings I’ve tried, the footage looks blurry & is often not wide screen. This is my first attempt with the software & 1080/60p footage so I’m clueless. I’m unable to find a clear step by step for the best way to create a BluRay & DVD when starting with 1080/60p footage imported into Vegas. Any tips or references to websites would be most appreciated.

I meant to say that I imported into Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 (not Vegas Pro)….sorry.

You will need to set your project settings for the TM700 files.
File,Properties.
Then Open the Vegas help file and search, Blu-Ray render, and this will show you how to proceed. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Oh yea, If you want it in surround sound, the TM700 can record the audio that way, switch the Project settings, audio tab, drop down stereo and select 5.1. Danny

Thanks…I’ll give that a try for the blu ray.
What about creating a standard widescreen DVD from that same project file (ie, 1080/60p footage)? Every one I’ve tried has produced a non-widescreen version despite choosing NTSC widescreen settings along the way. And the quality is very bad. I must be missing something.
I even tried using an .mpg conversion of the .m2ts file using the camera for conversion (HDWriter software) but that didn’t change the results at all.
There’s a lot I like about Sony Vegas as I’ve started to edit with it but the novice in me is struggling with all the rendering & burning options.
