    Hi guys and girls,

I need to know what the basic capture and sequence settings are for FCP, Motion and Livetype. I am shooting with a Sony DSR500ws which shoots DVCAM and I always shoot in 16×9 which is native to this camera. Even after doing Larry Jordan’s tutorial on moving on stills twice I constantly have problems when trying to do moves on stills ( terrible interlacing ) and grahpics ( Not sharp and frame size is never correct ). It seems as though the settings all assume that the 16×9 footage is squeezed but my is shot native. When I export a sequence ( file/export/quictime movie) it comes out squeezed, then when I take it to compressor and make an h.264 it looks fine but of course I have to tweak the geography settings.

ALL of my work is viewed on line and occasionally I need to put it on DVD as well. Can someone tell me where my settings shoud be?

    FCP
Capture, Sequence (general and render including advanced tabs) in FCP

    Motion
Presets, pixel aspect ration and field order

    Any help is appreciated!!

    Thanks,

    Tom Burke

DV-NTSC Anamorphic. Make sure you are viewing your rendered timeline on an broadcast monitor. Make sure your monitor is capable of displaying 16:9.
