Settings for Mpeg streamclip? MP2 to a quicktime file in Final Cut Pro 7
I have footage shot on a Sony DCR-SX40, the resulting files on the camera are Mpeg-2 files (very small files, about 215MB for 9 minutes of footage. I have about 100 of these 10 minute files I need to bring in.
First setting I chose in MPEG streamclip was Apple FCP Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2.
result: Bad: file size 14G, also interlace problem
Good: no rendering needed for video on the timeline2nd format: Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
result: file size better only 4G ( I would prefer something similar to original file size. Must render to play on FCP Timeline.
3rd format: DVC-Pro HD
Result: Bad:
File size 4gig ( not great but not terrible), must render to play on FCP timeline.Good: No interlacing problem.
What I need is a setting to give me a file size similar to original file, no interlacing problem, FCP timeline ready i.e. no rendering needed to edit.
