I understand if you drag clip onto timeline the FCP will correct to the correct setting. I tried to set to the correct settings to start with. I am shooting 1080 24 p Panasonic hmc 150. Once on the time line it asks if I want to correct, I usually say yes.

When I look at the sequence settings it says 1920 x 1080 HDTV 1080i. I know it’s is apple proRess 22. What my question is – I don’t understand if I set my camera setting to 1080 24p, why are the setting coming as HDTV 1080i? If I am doing something wrong could someone direct me to correction? When picking setting what would be the correct settings for what I am shooting which is either 1080 24 or 30 P.

    Suz,

My guess is that’s just a generic label in the Popup Menu that Apple never got around to updating or adding to. It’s just the aspect ratio (1920 x 1080) reference.

Why don’t you build your own Sequence preset(s)? Use Custom 16 x9 in the Aspect Ratio Popup.
