In 3ds max, what is y is z in after effects and and z is y.

As I would like to consolidate to have y as the screen-in and out parameter and z as the up-down parameter, I was wondering if there
is a swap y-z feature in ae?

    thanks

It’s not that either application is broken; it is the fact that
3ds Max used the right-handed rule for xyz, whilst adobe after effects
and apple motion use the left-handed rule.

It means as I happily animate in 3ds Max, I know up and down are z.
Whilst when I switch to 3d after effects I have to mentally know that
    y is the up-down co-ordinates.

Its a matter of convenience, that’s all.
