Setting up my Color Correction Home Studio – Lightning
So, I’ve already asked this forum about hardware, software and made my own home studio. Now I’m moving to a new place and decided to enhance it (since I’ve got now fairly good hardware in my room, which isn’t a proper studio at all).
I decided to paint one of the walls in my new place grey, and light it the proper way… the thing is: what lightbulbs should I use? any 65K “daylight” bulb will do the job or is there any industry-standard specifics I should look for? If not, is there anything else I should look for when setting up my lights?

Or the Pro version if the wall is farther away. You are looking to get about 10% of the luminance of your monitor on the back wall (about 3fL)
Most paint stores will match or cross reference this paint…

I used the e-cinema paint… one thing to keep in mind is that it is an oil based paint… there are some threads about this. From what I understand this is the only thing that is close to being truly neutral. It’s not cheap either. It’s $125/gallon. The recommendation is 2 coats of primer and a coat of flat white before the application of the SP-50 paint. This will help stretch it out. I did the recommended preparation and am doing 2 coats of SP-50 on the front wall, a single coat on the side walls and flat black on the back wall.
