Setting Up Multi-Room Editing Suite from Scratch – Advice?
Hey Everyone!
I have recently been tasked with setting up a multi-room edit suite from scratch. The company I work for has purchased an open building that will be renovated and restructured as we want.
However, this is my first time setting up an edit suite of this scale. Does anyone have any recommended web resources, books, consultants, direct advice, etc?
It’s main function will be to produce/edit feature documentaries and web videos for one organization. There will be a small team of 5-8 people, on and off.
To be more helpful, here’s the rough room plan:
Edit Bay 1 – 1 Mac Pro workstation w/ client desk
Edit Bay 2 – 3-4 assist workstations (iMacs)
Edit Bay 3 – Sound mixing/color enhancement workstation (will also be used for as a group screening room)
Storage Room – All our computers will be routed to shared storage with isolated AC.Thanks! And please let me know if there is a better forum to be sharing this.
