Setting up a new office with shared storage, looking for professional assistance
Our company will be moving locations soon, and would like to set up a shared storage solution for about five full time editors as well as twenty or so non-power users. Right now we are working from recent iMacs and tend to deal with 4k xdcam footage, but it varies pretty widely. In the near future we may be dealing with large amounts of fairly highly compressed footage streamed from our app for next day turnaround editing. It’s probably apparent I am completely ignorant in this area, though we do have experienced programmers who know their way around setting up a server and network. Right now it’s tough to say what our budget will be, we would love to hear some quotes for a full install as well as planning so we can just get an idea. Some of the QNAP solutions look promising, but again, right now I would just like to look into hiring a professional to assist us in planning this out. Hope this is the right place for these questions, thanks for any help!
