Sorry for asking such a simple question. I really don’t have the answer…

    Computer and software is:
iMac 24″, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB ram running snow leopard. I am using Premiere CS4

I use a Sony HDR-SR12 camera, and I record my video at the highest quality which I believe is: 16-mbps AVCHD.

This is what sony says about this camera: 1920×1080 Recording at 1080i
Record stunning, incredibly detailed video footage in the clarity of 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution.

My question is, what are the best settings to use when creating a premiere project?
I would like to stay as close to the original raw format as possible, so to keep the best quality.

Where I am stumped the worst is, what frames per second should I choose?
I have spent a lot of time searching the web, but could not come up with an straight answer. Some where saying that the HDR-SR12 camera 1920 x 1080 records at 120 fps and other say 220 fps.

If you are in NTSC land your camera shoots 30 fps if you are in PAl land your camera shoots 25 fps.
So choose a AVCHD preset accordently to that.
