Setting Timer on an AJA KiPro Rack… or breaking up clips?
We’re trying to record 3-5 hours of aircheck and then edit clips out of the result on a Mac with Premiere.
We first tried using an ATOMOS Ninja 2. We left a test running overnight, which resulted in a single 12 hour 700+ GB ProRes MOV file. Every Mac application we used to interact with it would choke on it. There doesn’t seem to be a way on the Ninja to set a fixed duration or have it create new clips at regular intervals.
We’re doing a similar overnight test with an AJA KiPro Rack with a 750GB drive. I’m not sure it will make much difference, since a 700+ GB MOV is a 700+ GB MOV regardless of what recorded it?
But is there any way to set the KiPro to record a fixed duration and stop. Or at least create a new file every X minutes so at least the recording is more manageable to deal with?
