Avid Media Composer 3.1.2 – not my strong point as I am mostly FCP.
I am importing XDCAM EX clips from Sony’s Clip Browser and it is all working fine.
When I create the EDL all the reel names are ‘AX’. And when I try to enter info in the ‘tape’ item in the bin it won’t accept any entry. AND I can’t find any ‘reel #’ entry.

I have to do this edit in Avid and then master in FCP. It sure ain’t straight forward eh!

    Any guidance welcome.

What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!

Try highlighting the clip, go to ‘clip’ and then ‘modify’. I’m pretty sure you can do a batch modify, but don’t quote me on that…

We put the reel name in the TAPE ID column – That way the online knows which card to index.
