Setting keyframes for motion through dissolves
How can you set up motion keyframes that extend beyond the ends of clips? I want to do a series of dissolves on stills where the stills continue to move throuout the dissolve duration (PPro 1.5). I’m assuming there must be a fairly easy way to do this, and I hope that the effect can be copied to a series of clips, hopefully without having to adjust keyframes for every clip.

I think what you are looking for is on the Effect Controls window, the flyout menu (or whatever you call the menu that comes off the right arrow at the top of that window) then uncheck “Pin to Clip” — this will allow you to set keyframes beyond the current clip in and out points.

Apply teh motion before you apply the dissolve otherwise you cannot see what you are doing because the dissolve has already done its thing

In 1.5, the use of Pin-to-Clip is not necessary in this case, because the transitions appear (properly) in the ECW. Merely drag the beginning and ending keyframes to their respective spots(the head and tail) of the clip. Lasso vertically aligned keyframes(i.e. motion/anchor point and scale) and drag them as one.
For multiple use, save as a preset, and when applying this preset to future clips, you have the option to have the keyframes automatically adjusted to the length of the new clips. More details are available in the user-manual.
