  • setting default audio fade type in Sony Vegas Pro 12

    Hi!

I’ve been searching for a solution to change the default audio type to the one I use most of the time. I found how to get to the internal preference (ctrl, shift, plus preferences), but have not found the correct field and value to change.

    anyone have any idea?

    thanks for your assistance. James

Are you speaking of the Audio fade that results from makkng a Split?

    Graham,

    No.

I am talking about any audio clip, that when you take the end of the clip and do a audio fade (lets say a fade in), it uses a fade type that I do not use and I have to manually change the fade type each time.

It seems that there has to be a way to set those default fade type in preferences.

    Thanks, James

[James Redmond] “It seems that there has to be a way to set those default fade type in preferences.”

OK, Gary James has an Extension Script that will allow you to apply different Offset Fade “types”. I’ve been wanting a reason to trial it for this, and yes it does work.

So, I can’t see a default option but at least your can apply a Script that will alter the Offset Fade Type.

Aleksey, That does not change the default audio fade type for me.

Graham, I do have add-on programs that will change it after the fact. It just seems like we should be able to set up what the default fade type would be.

thanks for both of you looking into it. Still don’t have a satisfactory solution.

    All the best, James

    Yup. After the fact.

Perhaps Aleksey has a way to effect the Default from what he was offering.

    Hmmm…

From Help: “This setting is used only for events that you place on the timeline after changing the setting. Existing events will use the default fade type that was active when they were added to the timeline.
