My only question – what aspect ratio do I format the mp2 out of DVD Studio Pro? 4:3 or 16:9? -

Rob,
I’ve had my nose inside two down computers nearly all day and at 2:35am I’ll still installing software, so…
The presets are very good for most DVDs. You’ll need to poke around to figure out where the different areas in the Inspector where you make changes such as the 16×9 setting, etc., however for the most part the presets are ready to rumble. As you become more expert, you can tweak them eher and there, but nothing major.

September 20, 2008 at 9:46 amAlways set Compressor for 16×9 when dealing with 16×9 material as that will flag authoring software, DVDSP in this case, to display 16×9 on widescreen TVs and letterboxed on 4×3 TVs as mentioned earlier. That flagging is part of the “DVD spec,” so all authoring apps look for those flags and all DVD players do too.
