  • SERVER/CATALOGUES/ Move catalogues to a folder

Posted by Carla Vidal on September 24, 2014 at 8:45 am

    Hi,

As we are logging so much new material, we’ve ended up by displaying too many catalogues out from the server tree. I recently discover that it is possible to create folders in this area.

My question is if it is possible to move catalogues to this folder (my plan is to have one folder per library/year)??

    Thank you in advance

    hi Carla

the good news is that this is already a feature you cna drag and drop a catalog into a folder

the no so good news is that this is one folder at a time so potentially time consuming for large numbers of folders

it is possible to do this proceduraly by making custom changes to the database this can be done by Squarebox as part of their professional services offering see

    thank you dougal

Oh, very useful, thanks a lot Dougal. Now I see why it didn’t work before, I was trying to drag and drop many at a time.

    carla

the folders should automatically delete themselves if you empty them or if you delete the last catalog that they contain

try changing to another folder the empty folder should disapear

    thanks Dougal

It did not change by going to another folder but when ‘refreshing’ from the production group -which I forgot to do before.

    Thanks again!
