I was so excited when I bought this plugin hoping it would allow me to do some really nice 3D logos, text and other extruded objects. I loaded it and at first glance was fairly happy.

Twice now (on two different projects), I’ve set up extruded logos (made in Illustrator), got everything the way I liked it materials and colors wise, and then I went about setting up all of my keyframes. The file RAM previews great, and everything acts as expected. Then when I close the After Effects CS5 and return to my file, the extruded EPS files are missing. I try to reload from the source file and the comp simply blank.

The odd thing is that the logo shows up in the thumbnail preview window within the project window, but when I go to the comp, there is nothing there.

I’ve tried reloading the plugin and that makes no difference. I don’t know how to get my extruded eps files back that I spent hours working on.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jason,

Call our support lines in the morning. I can’t say why eps files got unlinked but I’m sure they will be able to figure out how to get them back. Sorry about the trouble.

Can you give me that number? More problems today.

My current problem is that it works while I’m setting stuff up, but disappears when I render.

    Frustrated!

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Now I get this error when the file opens:

“BCC Extruded EPS” has version mismatch. Code version is 7.0 and PiPL version is 7.0

Sue, that number is at the bottom of every page on our web site:

    888-77BORIS

toll free and has not changed in the past 15 years.

It sounds like you need to clean up some installation files. Please call our support team.

Sorry… I took the lazy way out. I was working in the wee hours, and didn’t take the time to look it up. If I can get my issues worked out, I think I’ll love this plugin. It has a really nice look and feel, and takes After Effects’ 3D to the next level.

The only feature I see missing is the ability to create custom reflections. That would be a really nice feature.

    Anyway, thanks for the number.
