“Serious error” crash whenever I view the effects tab…
Whenever the Effects tab is viewed in Premiere, it crashes with the error message: “Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.” Click OK on that message and then “DroverLord – TabPanelWindow” down only in the taskbar. And also Premiere is no longer responding.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Me too. All I have to do is hover the mouse pointer over the effects tab and it crashes. Adobe has been giving me the run-around.

Did you guys try trashing your Preferences and rebuilding your Permissions (if you are Mac based that is :D)?

What exact version of Premiere Pro? I.e., have you installed the recent updates ( https://adobe.ly/lsrkmJ )?
Any third-party plug-ins installed?
Have you updated your graphics drivers?
As Tom suggested, it’s a good idea to clear your preferences when trying to work past an issue like this.
