Serial port settings?
Hi, guys,
I’m using Avid Express HD, controlling a Sony UVW-1800 Beta deck with the necessary rosetta adapter. (On an HP PC.)
HOWEVER… When I attempt to capture, the computer keeps telling me that “Coms 1 is busy and cannot be used for deck control.” I went into the Coms 1 port settings, but all the submenus are pretty cryptic.
Any suggestions?

I’m not sitting in front of my XPress, but I seem to remember in the tools menu, there is a sub-meunu called comm closer, or serial port settings (come to think of it, comm closer is in mac).
Try that. I think you have to tell Avid which serial port you want to use….
