i shot a small project on a digital camera and the audio is recorded in mono format. i imported the clips in FCP, and had to change the sequence setting for the video so i would not have to constantly render. the only thing is the audio still needs to render when played back in the timeline because it is mono, not stereo. how do i change the sequence to play mono without having to render every single clip?

Digital cameras record audio in mono. You can put those mono channels in FC and FC mix them on exporting stereo pair. I don’t think this is the issue that is making you render the audio.
Which kind of footage are you editing and what kind of audio?

    Hi Jon
If you look at your clip and sequence settings in the browser you will find that they are different. You need to set your sequence to match your footage… for example check if they are both 48KHz 24bit.
    Cheers
