sequence settings for DVC pro HD 720p 24
I shot on the Panasonic HVX 200 using p2 cards in 720p at 60 FPS for a slow motion efffect. I am using FCP 5.04 on a G5 2ghz power mac. I used the easy set up mode “DVC pro HD 720p 24” Is this right for a slow motion mode? I notice when I speed up the footage it gets choppy and needs to render. Also, I am going to get graphics to place in the letter box on top and bottom running through out the 2 minute video. How do I set up the sequence so that I can incorporate the graphics with the video?

If you shot 720p24 at 23.98, then your settings should be 720p24. If you have 720p60 footage that you shot for slow motion, then you need to use the DVCPRO HD Framerate Converter to slow it down. Here is my tutorial on that:

Now I am completey confused. When I import my footage shot at 60 frames in a 24 frame project it already is slowed down. Why do I have to convert it? Is it converting when I import it? When I create a project at 60 frames and import it it needs to be rendered and is still slow motion. The video clip in the bin says the Vid Rate is 23.98.
I’m lost.
