sequence settings and frame size
Which sequence setting is appropriate? ProRes 1280×720 or 960×720
I am working with 4 types of footage:
DVC Pro 720p60 (59.94 fps, frame size 960×720)
DVC Pro 720p30 (29.97 fps, frame size 960×720)
DVC Pro 720p24 (23 fps, frame size 960×720)
ProRes (59.94 fps, frame size 1280×720 – transcoded from original format h264 cannon footage)
the primary formats are in DVC PRO 720P60 (40%) and the ProRes (45%)I have done several test ProRes sequences in both 1280X720 w/square pixel, and 960×720 w/ hd 960×720 pixel.
exported through compressor set at HD DVD: H.264 60 Min.I am having difficulty seeing the difference. is there one that is better suited for my delivery and better work flow?
primary release is HD DVD
there will be a significant amount of slowmo and I will most likely use twixtor.thank you for any insight

ProRes 1280×720 would be best…
But HD DVD delivery? You know that is a dead format, right? It isn’t BluRay…it is the one that BluRay beat out…HD DVD is the Toshiba Format that lost…

Thank you for the answer, and the clarification on HD/blueray.
I am currently working on each step of the work flow at this point and I am just an amateur trying to keep up with technology.
So, are there any issues with FCP 6.0.6 and trying to deliver to a blueray final product?Sean

You will need a third party encoder for BluRay with FCP 6. Toast 10 or similar.

Oh…and a BluRay burner. The drive in FCP doesn’t burn BluRay.
