This is pretty basic. All HD is widescreen. If you use an HDV preset a new sequence will be widescreen.

    All the best,

When you grab your clip into your empty timeline, you will see a popup window that allows you to change your sequence settings to match your clip’s size, frame rate, etc.

Assuming you shot everything in the same HDV format, that’s all you have to do.

And like the other poster said, all HDV is 16×9, so that shouldn’t be an issue for you.

Thanks for all the help. I now have my project in the correct setting.
    Now 2 new questions.

Exporting to Motion to redo my opening…what is the correct setting for the movie export? I export 5-7 short clips to use in a motion template. Will be using HD settings for the first time.

Exporting to DVD Studio pro to make their DVD. What is the right setting or movie format? Again how do I get the 16-9 settings for the DVD?

    Thanks again…

    Slightly dumb…
