Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Sequence setting question

I’ve worked a handful of shots in After Effects and exported them all out with no compression and with a size of 480×272. When I import them into FCE HD i see that there is no way to configure a sequence to that exact size. What should I do?

For now, Ive just scaled my quicktime files so that it fits properly into a NTSC DV preset but I realize that scaling a file like this causes a slight loss in quality. What should I do?

P.S. – The reason I’ve exported my shots to that size is because I find that I like that size for posting on my site and the web in general, mainly Vimeo.

    Thanks everyone

You really should export them as a format that FCE works with, THEN compress it smaller. That is typically how it is done. Edit at the best resolution that you can, then compress for the web. You are going about it a bit backwards.

I do have a tip for making settings match the clip settings, but that only works for FCP, not FCE.
