sequence setting audio sample rate for music video with canon 5d prores 422
Hello and happy new year!
The sequence setting for audio defaults to 48khz since canon 5d audio is normally 48khz. However, i am cutting a music video and so i won’t be using any of the video clips’ audio. Instead i have an audio track with the song on it which is a 44khz, 16 bit wav file. Should i convert the song file to 48khz? Of course i’d prefer not to do that as this is an already professionally mastered song at 44khz and i don’t want to degrade the audio at all by up-sampling it. Preferably, i could instead just change the sequence setting from 48khz to 44? When i drop the canon 5d prores clips into my timeline, it only adds the video portion, not the audio, to the timeline, so in this case there’s no reason why i should leave the 48khz default on the sequence setting right? Or is there something i’m overlooking here?
