I’m trying to put together a sequence of pictures. All the pictures are 1024 X 768. If I create a sequence with the standard 720 X 480 resolution, it chops off a bit from the frame evenly – which is bad. Sure, I can adjust the size of the image once its on the timeline, but that would take forever to do to hundreds of pictures.

I tried to create a Windows Media Sequence with a 1024 X 768 resulution with square frames (To maintain the 4:3 ratio, and to match the resulution of all my pictures), but when I import my images, the quality is terrible!! Why is it doing that, and how can I solve this issue?

[JustAnotherGuy] “I can adjust the size of the image once its on the timeline, but that would take forever to do to hundreds of pictures.”

    Guy,

Once you adjust the first image you try these steps:
    1. select it
    2. Right click and select copy from the popup menu
    3. Select the track selection tool
    4. Click on the first image to the right of the one you adjusted. This should select all clips on the rest of the timeline on that track.
    5. Right click and choose “paste attributes” from the popup menu

The resize will be applied to all the selected clips. That didn’t take long did it?

    Hope this helps.

You can also do a batch process in Photoshop. It’s very simple – but in addition to just resizing, you could throw a sharpen in the batch which helps sometimes. But then again it (the sharpen) could cause problems with fine lines. If you want to solve it in PPro, copying and pasting will be fine.

    Good luck.

Why not go to “Project Settings”, General and click on “Scale clips to project dimensions…..”?

    Oh yeah, there is that.

But working with large pictures (like 5-7 megapixels) can also slow down the system.

    The choice is yours.
