When I start an ad, I always put markers at 1:00:00:00 and 1:00:29:59 so I know that I’ve got a :30. I just finished working with the producer roughing together 5 ads on my recently-updated-to-FCP7 and I just realized that one of the new features of this version is the markers will slide around in the timeline as you trim (with Shift+X).

So, now that I have to go back and re-edit all of these, is there a way I can put a marker at a point in the timeline and have it stay there? You know, like in the last version?

Genius! I use a custom button set so there was no new button there, but there is now.

    Hi,

I am having exactly this problem. I have set a whole host of chapter markers and editing markers on a time line. I now want to insert another piece of video but the markers do not move with the repositioned time line. I have tried the ripple marker button top right of the time line but to no effect. Please walk me through this. Thanks

Hi again, To clarify what I am trying to do………I want to lock my previously positioned markers to the video so that when I add a new clip of video to the timeline at the beginning (for example a new title sequence ) the existing markers move with the video and do not remain in their original place on the timeline. Appreciate your time in answering this.

    regards,

    Roger
