  • Sequence discoloration.. color has changed somehow on whole sequence

Posted by Paul Boone on November 29, 2014 at 4:59 pm

I’m opening old projects to fix them up for my portfolio, and when I try to open my project in FCP 7, my whole sequence is wierdly colored. The blacks go to pure black really easily, and everyone looks like they’ve had a ridiculous amount of tanning, because of an orange tint.

What’s going on? I’m using the OS Yosemite. Does FCP 7 work in Yosemite?

Does it have something to do with “LUT” or something like that, I don’t know much about..

    Help!

Final Cut Pro is not supported in Yosemite. That could easily be your issue. Unfortunately, I don’t have a solution other than to get access to a computer with FCP and and older OS.

Is this just computer monitoring or can you view to an external monitor via a card like Kona or Decklink?

Alternatively does the changed gamma and color translate when you render a file out and check it on other software?

Check also that your Easy Setup matches your sequence settings.
