  • Sequence dates erratically changing…

    howdy-

I am pretty new to FCP (although many years on Avid) and have been working on a longish doc of my own at home to learn the ropes. One way that I keep track of the latest variations on multiple cuts & sequences & when I worked on them is by the “last Modified” date column. But the ascribed dates are either changing at random or according to a FCP law that I don’t yet understand. For instance, looking through my sequence folders today I see many that have today’s date in the last modified column when I know that I have not worked on that particular cut in weeks or even opened the folder it is in (prior to checking on what’s up). I often dip into a scene and then leave it for awhile & do not remember all of my tweaks. It spooks me a bit, like there are goings on I don’t get – such as whether or not that sequence was actually changed today by some key stroke or action while working on another cut entirely. What could this be about?

While I am taking up your time, I would love to know how to use audio scrub while trimming as I often use the single frame in trim mode to hear my way through. Also, to select which track to isolate in this unknown trim / scrub mode. I have looked through the manual and have not located this instruction.

Thanks for your time and advicel,

    peter
