Sequence Compressor settings and DVCPRO vs DVCPRO50
Working on a video containing lots of slideshow sequences exported from iPhoto (with transition effects). This video will eventually go to DVD and web. Pictures used in the iPhoto slideshows have been resized to fit 720 x 480. Got a bunch of questions, hopefully not too many for one post.
Is 720 x 480 actually widescreen on a DVD? And do I need to check the anamorphic setting if I want it to be?
In FCP I’ve chosen “NTSC CCIR/DV (720 x 480)” for pixel aspect ratio. Is this correct?
In FCP for Quicktime Video Settings – Compressor I’ve chosen DV/DVCPRO NTSC. Is this the correct setting?
When exporting the Quicktime slideshow video from iPhoto I’ve chosen “DV/DVCPRO-NTSC” as the compression type to match FCP. Is this necessary in order to avoid rendering in FCP? I also see DVCPRO-50-NTSC as an option. Does that match the “DV/DVCPRO NTSC” settings in FCP and will that give me better quality?
Am I on the right track in general here or should I be approaching this in a completely different way?
Coming from the audio world and this stuff has my head spinning. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
