    Hi

I have this project coming up.
It is a comedy show – 2 parts.

I normally edit comedy in FCP7, but my recent experience is that the projectsize grows to much. Especially with multicam. (Offline: prores proxy 1080i50, online XDCAM 50mbit or prores HQ 1080i50)
So I want to test it in Premiere, but I need some advice before start.
    See specs further down.

    – Is Premiere a reliable NLE to multicam and large projects with multiple formats.
    – Which sequence settings would be the best approach.
    – How about the size of Premiere projects – is it of any concern, and what is the limit?
    – I think that I will edit natively, or is it better to convert everything and go for an offline/online workflow?
    – If so, which codeq would you recommend?

I will appreciate any kind of advise.

    Formats:
    P2- DVCPRO 1080p25 and 1080i50
    EX1 – XDCAM 35mbits 1080i50

The P2 is for backstage and initials rounds – one camera
The EX1 is 4 camera setup for the semi-finals and final.

    Amount of footage – estimate
    P2: 20-30 hours
    EX1 – 24 hours (2 shows – 4 cameras – 3 hours each)

The shows will be 50/50 of P2 and EX1.

    Thanks
