    Hello,

I have this video and I want to make the background of this particular video in Sepia tone and the people on the video in colour. Is it possible to do that and if so, how do I do that?

    Thanks

It is possible, but in no way will it be easy. You will have to cut the people away from the background and put them on top of a sepia colored copy of the movie. This is generally refered to as “rotoscoping” and is probably best done in After Effects, or even better, in Photoshop. It is a tedious frame by frame task.

Nifty effects usually take forever. Have fun roto-scoping non-keyed people from a background. If you can keep your cuts short you’ll save your brain from imploding.

If you can do it in AE then, by all means, do so. Pushing around a mask is by-far the easier of two options he offered above.
