I’m currently using two mics on my Sony NXCAM. Is there a way to tell the camera to treat each mic as two separate audio tracks? I want to be able to edit the sound from each mic individually in Premiere Pro.

    Thanks in advance

Steve, you’re talking about the NX5U?

Yes, on the side of the NX5 where the audio settings are, set the top left switch to Input1 and set the bottom left switch to Input2. This will set the XLR ports to use one for Left and one for Right.

In Premiere Pro CS5 (don’t know about the older versions)
Make sure that your recorded clip is in your project panel and “not” on the timeline yet.
Right click on your clip, select Modify and Audio Channels.
    Select MONO and select OK
Now add this clip to your timeline, your audio will be separated and each channel will be on it’s own mono track (below the stero tracks).
