Separate Layers that have blend modes AE3
After Effects CS3
I am attempting to separate two layers that each have a Multiply blend mode on them, because they are each on a White Solid Layer.
From the beginning:
Comp Red Blob, and Comp Blue Blob are created. They are identical in creation, however cannot be on the same comp so they do not interfere with one another. Here are the steps in which I created each blob comp. Two circle layers were created and blurred to nearly completely ghosted. A White Solid was then created, and placed under the circles layers. Then, an adjustment layer on the very top layer with a curves adjustment. The curves are set to the highest possible contrast, bringing the blurred circles into sharp edged circles. When the circles are animated moving close together, they begin to merge similar to a water droplet merging with another water droplet. This is only visible because of the white solid layer beneath.
When I import both blob comps onto the main comp, they come in with the white layer, naturally. So I used the Multiply blend mode to get rid of the white, and keep my blob shapes. However, I want the two blob shapes to overlap, without blending into one another.
Is there a way to separate the two layers blend modes from affecting each other? – Keeping in mind that they both must have the White solid in their respective comp. to maintain their water droplet effect.
Thank you for your responses!
