sensor cover glass for the BMCC 2.5K
Does any one know what this protective glass in front of the
sensor is made of? (hold by a rubber ring)Is it just a normal glass or is it IR.
Some one at BM in England told me some time ago it is just a normal glass
and not IR. But it seems to have a coating and the glass seems to be blue. -

I believe it does not filter IR. In getting a set of ND for the camera, I found a lot of IR polution in my footage and exchanged them for IRND’s and it was the correct choice. I chose the TIffen IRND’s as recommended by the test of Shane Hurlburt.
