    Hi,
I’m using a Sennheiser G2 Wireless lavalier setup and I’m getting some nasty distortion on sibilant speech sounds.

Any ideas what could cause something like this?

    Thanks,
    Peter

My guesses in order of most-likely:

    Low Battery in transmitter.
Overdriving preamp (turn down mic input level on transmitter).
    Low Battery in receiver.
    Bad antenna connection.
    Slightly off frequency.
    Slightly too far distance.

    Your talent is excessively sibilant?

If everyone sounds overly sibilant, you’re either working with Daffy Duck and his family or perhaps you’re not setting levels by peaks, but by RMS.

Try finding the overdriven stage and back it off.
