Sennheiser mic picking up camera noise
Posted by Dog Food on August 28, 2006 at 4:57 amMy Sennheiser MIC is picking up the sound (noticable HUM) of my camera (100B) while recording. Is there a remedy for this nuisance?

August 28, 2006 at 7:13 amYes- move it further away. In general an on camera mic should be a last resort.

August 28, 2006 at 7:20 amI was afraid you were going to say that.. I have not had this problem with the sony PD-150.
Can you recomend any camera mounts that help with this problem.. unfortunately, MOST of the time the mic is mounted on the camera.

September 4, 2006 at 1:09 amI had a similar problem with the mic on my old/louder camera. I too wanted to keep the mic on the camera, so i bought a camcorder bracket off of B&H. I put the link below. I still use it with my dvx100, but as a stabilizer rather. I have it sticking out the left side of the camera (if you had the camera pointed at the subject), but you should know that it’s just barely not long enough to open up the LCD screne. A great stabilizer none the less though!
