Sending graphics and Video w embedded Audio out of computer — to IMAG and Linecut
Hi all,
Looking for advice on how to to incorporate graphics/videos w audio into a multicam live shoot. If it was just graphics, that’s simple….but what’s confusing me is we are including videos with audio. My question is in regards to the signal flow. This what I need to do:Come out of a MacBook Pro via thunderbolt —sending photos and videos with embedded audio —- this signal then needs to be sent to both a IMAG screen live to audience in hall and then to my switcher and thus my Linecut. What’s tripping me up is the audio embedded on theses videos. It seems to me I need a piece of hardware in-between going to the switcher and going to the IMAG but I don’t know what that is.
Something that can take in the video w/ embedded audio from the computer thunderbolt, and distribute it …. 1 video goes to IMAG projector, 1 video goes to my 410 switcher….1 audio channel goes to house audio guy via XLR who sends it to the hall, 1 audio goes to my mackie mixer, (again XLR) where I have to mix the house audio (it’s a concert w tributes) and when the time comes, mix the video audio – which is sent to my kipro where I marry audio and video together for Linecut. Any suggestions?

Hi James,
I’m assuming you don’t need the audio on your end, so why deal with embedded audio in the first place?
Just take a thunderbolt to DVI out and split that out for all your inputs, then take the audio out of the Macbook via USB DI or 1/8″ mini analog and split that to all your audio inputs?
