Send to soundtrack OK – but how to send it back?
Hey!
had a voiceover guy come over to my house this morning and I encountered 2 (small) problems, but annoying..
I sent my timeline to soundtrack – that worked ok – and the VO.artist did his stuff…
But why aint there a soimple send back to FCP command? Had to export the audio from soundtrack and put it back in FCPs timeline….
and second : The VO dude used a mice plugged into a small behringer mixingboard – and heard himself in the headphones… but I found no option to have him hear (through teh headpones , ) the sound from soundtrack ( the standalone tracks ) that he voiced over – without them being recorded into the “new” track that he recorded hos VO to… because If I inputted My macbooks sound out – into the board , they would ofcurse be recorded again into the new track, that was supposed to have voice only…
Phuh… long and maybe unaccurate explanation….
I kinda need to signals into his phones – the one from teh borad and the one from the mac – but the one from the mac , NOT viia the board….
At work they have nice setup for this…. But now I am in a hotel…
Ideas anyone?

In effect you need two seperate mixers – one for the microphone into your computer, and another to mix the computer’s output with a feed from the mic mixer of the VO, back to the VO artist’s headphones.Bigger mixers have the facility to be ‘split’ like this.
Maybe this small unit will do the same?

Becker,
One way to get the project back into FCP is to save it and then grab the little project icon at the top of the screen, while holding down the Command and Tab Keys, which will enable you to switch back to FCP. Then you can drag that icon into your browser or directly to your timeline.
