Send to has encountered a problem while exporting
A message I’m becoming all too familiar with. It has happened on the last two projects I’ve worked on that have been more than an hour in length. (never used to happen at all) I have 4 audio tracks and 5 video tracks – not used all the time, just on small segments.
Someone suggested that the project file was corrupt and to make a new project and import the bins. This hasn’t worked. It starts to do the send to (Sorenson Squeeze) and then stops at an indeterminable place and gives me the message. No details in the console or anything.
I tried cutting the timeline up into two pieces to see if the length was an issue. First half was only 45 minutes and it still choked. Then I tried putting all the footage on one disk instead of having it split over two. Hasn’t helped. Tried a project that was only 15 minutes shorter and made just before this one – sends absolutely fine.

To try and identify if the project file or sequence is corrupt; make a backup copy of the sequence and then delete say the last half of the sequence – (don’t save) and try the Send To. If that fails – CTRL + Z to restore the material and then try the same with the first half. If this shows the error, try narrowing the first half into 2 and try again. You should eventually find a version that works although it is time consuming.
The majority of problems we’ve been finding are CD library audio tracks that are upsampled to 48KHz. We regularly get a ‘Track -1 missing’ error, which sometimes doesn’t show up until we either consolidate or Send To… Replacing the errant track brings the project back to life again.

We’ve raised this with Avid to investigate as it happens far too many times. Bug or not we’re not sure yet. Mainly on NewsCutter Adrenaline and appears to happen when up-sampled manually or when set to auto up-sample on import.
