  • Send To Compressor not working.

I was wondering if anybody else had seen this issue and maybe had a fix for it. I have a brand new 27″ iMac, which has FCPX and Compressor 4 installed on it. Today I tried sending a project out to compressor using the “Send To Compressor” menu command, and it did nothing. I have tried re-installing both FCP and Compressor and trashing prefs, all to no avail.

The “Export using compressor settings” function seems to work, although even in there the “send to compressor” button does not. It just causes my computer to beep at me as if I did something wrong.

I should probably note that I have 2 other workstations that I have been using since the release of FCPX last summer, and have never seen this issue creep up on either of them. Both of them are still running Snow Leopard. I wonder if this is an issue with Lion?

At any rate it is very annoying, especially with the lack of a batch export feature in FCPX. Currently I have no way of sending multiple timelines out of FCP overnight. This is a real problem, as I regularly will work on several 2-hour+ timelines in a single day, all of which will need further compression.

Has anybody else experienced this? There is a brief thread about this on the Apple boards, but nobody seems to have any answers there either.

I would try deleting Compressor, and reinstalling from the App Store.

Try to open Compressor before send the FCPX project

I tried both of those things. No luck 🙁 Is there something I’m missing maybe in the uninstall process? I just placed the app in the trash…

    No, that’s it.

Try running Compressor repair from Digital Rebellion.
