SEND TO COLOR
Posted by Nick Franco on February 23, 2008 at 5:19 pmHI All
i’ve just reinstalled my system and loaded FCS2 and run the updates. how ever the time line short cut send to color does not appear. it does show up on the tool bar edit menu. has anyone come across this?
i have since installed it again but with no joy. is this just some bug in the latest update?
Your help will be most appreciated

February 23, 2008 at 5:27 pmSorry i did mean file send to color. however when you control click on the time line you should get the same option and i’ve used it often and now it’s gone.
i get paranoid when somethings there one minute and then it’s gone.
PS. Walter i’ve just purchased you stop looking start grading I’m looking forward to receiving it.

February 23, 2008 at 5:36 pmSo File > Send to Color is not there at all? Have never heard of that one.
All I can suggest is the usual trash prefs and repair disk permissions. Not really sure what could have happened there.

it doe appear there but it doesn’t appear on the short cut menu when you control click on the clip in the time line. send to shake, motion, soundtrack pro etc. do show upi’ve already trashed prefs and repaired disk permissions
I’m sure i can live without it but i don’t like it when things just disappear

February 24, 2008 at 1:15 amI don’t remember that menu item ever being available from the timeline by Control clicking. By right clicking in the timeline you’re essentially clicking on an individual clip and sending that one clip to the application of your choice. You would have to select all in order to send the entire timeline to a specific app. However, the option to send to Color is not one of the options by control clicking in the timeline. It’s possible that FCP6 and Color were rushed out the door without that option being programmed into the Control click of the timeline.
It’s actually more intuitive to send the entire timeline to a specific app, including Color, by selecting File/Send To in my opinion. But for uniformity sake you might want to send the suggestion to Apple/FCP.Michael Alberts
