    Hey all –

In the early planning stages of doing a 60 minute doc. I am backing every camera card up to one or two drives for safe keeping. Any suggestions on what products are best for this? Won’t be editing off them, just as safety backups. Thanks in advance.

How long do you want to depend on your back ups? long enough to get through post., or longer?
LTO tape is the real long term back up solution .

    Thanks Mark –

The long-term LTO solution will be a decision the producer will make after the edit is done. I am looking for solid drives that I can back up camera cards to (and perhaps the FCPX Library/assets from time to time) during the edit.

I use a 2 drive RAID 1, with nothing-special SATA drives. It’s mirrored, so if one goes poof, just clone the other.
