  • Selecting X amount of events.

    Hi,
The project Im working on is very large and there is a lot of events on the timeline. I know I can do a ‘Select all’ or pres ‘Ctrl’ and keep clicking events to select them but I can’t figure out a quick way to select X amount of events. Like if my boss asks me to change something half way through video. I have to use Ctrl button and click every event move them to the right to maybe just add something small in. Im sure theres a much easier way to do this. I know I haven’t explained this very well but I hope you understand what Im asking.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

there’s a selection edit tool for this.
There are buttons for edit tools, but you can find
    them in edit/editing tools also.

Assuming you work with normal edit tool pressing “D” twice
you get selection edit tool activated.

    Hope I could help.

Couldn’t you use Ripple Edit (Ctrl+Shift+F) to do this as well?
Then, if you end up with a blank space, double-click in the blank area to highlight it, hit Delete and do a Ctrl+Shift+F to remove the empty space.

I use the “Select Events” tool in Excalibur for this. It’s much more flexible with selecting events. By default, mine select “everything after the cursor”. It can also select in a variety of other ways as well.
