selecting objects to send to front/back isnt working!!
i have drawn 3 leaves in illustrator (cs2 on windowsxp)im trying to arrange using object,arrange,send to front/back.i cant get it to work!!have checked its not my software by drawing basic shapes on the same page and rearranging and its working on them-could it not be arranging because i have used the mesh tool on these leaves and the points are still showing???? cant think of anything else it could be!any help would be gratefully received to stop me throwing my laptop out of the window!

It should not really matter if you have used the Mesh-Tool.
Works fine here with Object/Arrange. -
thanks for responding! i have tried moving each shape in each layer,but its not creating the effect i want.im recreating an image of orchids/birds of paradise and leaves so im wanting to build the picture and arrange so that each petal/leaf is either in front or behind as appropriate and not overlapping if you get me??and yes,just been selecting one layer at a time aswell.
