This question is from someone who has been using a Decklink SP card, Sony PVM 14″ and editing with FCP 5.1.4

I currently have an AJA HDP converter box and am awaiting delivery of a Kona LH for my PCI-X G5 to replace the Decklink and enable HD capture, and HD monitoring to an Apple Cinema HD 23″.

Before anyone tells me that this is not a “pro choice” for monitoring, I am aware of this and done plenty of reading on the subject.
My final HD output is strictly for personal use and learning how the various HD formats work (for now).

I have been reading the manual and came across the YUV-RGB Conversion page (57).
My question is whether I need to manually change the Rec601and Rec709 colorspace, and Gamma settings, or does the card reliably sense (using Auto setting) whether you are working in SD or HD?

[JR-Links] “selecting an LH monitor setting”
Just realized that my subject title should not have included “monitor”.
I wanted say “colorspace” but had “monitor” on the brain after just
having checked out latest LCD prices on the Apple site.
