“Segmentation Fault”????
I am using AVID MC 4.5 on a long form documentary, and I have been using it for four years. I have had very few problems. Lately, when I attempt to cut or overwrite a shot into my time line the AVID will pause and then give me a dreaded message saying: “Segmentation Fault” in thread “Main Thread”, at address 0x0. And then, after I click an OK button, the AVID program will suddenly quit. What is going on????
The only way I can proceed is by shutting down completely, turning off the hard drives, waiting a bit, and then rebooting. I have to remember to save after every procedure so I don’t lose my work!
I would love to know what might be going on??? What does “Segmentation Fault” usually refer to??

Kidding aside its one of the oldest errors I’ve encountered and still ongoing with no answer in sight.
