  • “Segmentation fault” error after 5.0.3.7r installation

I am desperately trying to get MC working on my machine after installing a new hard drive and doing a clean install of everything. On my previous installation, I was running 5.0.3.6 without a problem. Now, after installing 5.0.3.7, I get the following error:

It always happens when it says “initializing Audio,” so I wonder if it has something to do with Avid’s audio drivers.

Anyway, I’m not sure. I’m able to install and launch and run 5.0.3. The 5.0.3.6 patch I tried running was the same one I had downloaded back in October. It was working on my previous installation. Now it doesn’t work either!

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why I can run 5.0.3 but it gives me this error when I install the 5037 or 5036 patch?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Here are my system specs:

    MacPro 1.1

    2x 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon

    6GB RAM

    Matrox MXO2 Mini (2.0)

    10.6.4

    ATI Radeon X1900 XT
