Seeking Help with BRU Compatibility and Freelance Assistance
Hi everyone,
I work for a company that specializes in film and TV archival services, focusing on long-term data storage and LTO tape management. We’re facing a significant issue with BRU (Backup and Restore Utility) that I hope someone here might have insight into.
Our main challenge is that BRU no longer works with newer macOS versions (10.15 and above), and with TOLIS Group no longer supporting the software, we are looking for a way to continue working with our BRU archives on newer systems.
Specifically, we’re exploring ways to use command-line recovery options, or ideally migrate to LTFS or another format that could be compatible with the latest systems.
Additionally, we are looking to hire a freelancer with experience in BRU, LTO, and tape archives, who can help us navigate these challenges and provide ongoing support.
If anyone has advice, tips, or might be open to freelance work, we would greatly appreciate it! We’re also happy to hear recommendations for professionals who could assist us.

Hey Irena,
Sounds like your firm is having a tough time.
I normally break these things, so not the freelancer that you want.
However, can I suggest that you add a location for your needs, even if it is just a state or a country?
And, you should consider posting the (freelance) job on the COW job-board, then it will be distributed out from there to LinkedIN and other places.
